About Mattress Guide Pro
We are a team of sleep scientists, physical therapists, and certified sleep coaches on a mission to provide the most trustworthy, independently tested mattress and pillow reviews on the internet.
Founded 2020 · 4 certified expert reviewers · 50+ products tested
Our Mission
Mattress Guide Pro was founded in 2020 with a simple goal: to create the most trustworthy, science-backed resource for mattress shoppers. With hundreds of brands and thousands of models available online, choosing the right mattress is overwhelming — and the stakes are high. A poor choice can lead to years of back pain, poor sleep, and wasted money.
Our team spends hundreds of hours testing each mattress we review, using standardised protocols developed with sleep medicine professionals. We evaluate pressure mapping, spinal alignment, motion isolation, temperature regulation, edge support, and long-term durability — then supplement our findings with data from our 500-person reader sleep panel.
Our Values
Unbiased Testing
We purchase products at retail price and refuse to be influenced by brands. Our ratings reflect genuine performance, not sponsorships or gifted samples.
Science-Backed
Every recommendation is grounded in sleep science research and validated through our standardised 8-week hands-on testing protocol with FLIR thermal cameras and pressure mapping equipment.
Reader-Focused
We maintain a 500-person sleep panel that provides ongoing feedback on mattress performance at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Lab results that do not hold in the real world do not earn our recommendation.
FTC Compliant
We clearly disclose affiliate relationships on every page. Our editorial scores and recommendations are not influenced by which brands offer commissions.

Our Testing Methodology
Purchase & Unboxing
We purchase mattresses at retail price (or receive samples clearly labeled as such) and document the unboxing and setup experience from a consumer perspective.
4-Week Break-In Period
Every mattress is slept on nightly for 4 weeks by multiple team members across different body types (130–230 lbs) and sleep positions before formal testing begins.
Standardised Performance Testing
We use Tekscan pressure mapping pads, FLIR thermal cameras, motion sensors, and edge compression jigs to quantify performance across 12 categories with consistent, repeatable measurements.
Reader Panel Validation
Top-rated mattresses are sent to our 500-person sleep panel for extended testing. Their structured feedback at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months is incorporated into long-term satisfaction scores.
Annual Re-Review
We revisit and update reviews annually to account for product reformulations, new competitors, pricing changes, and long-term durability data. Every page carries a "last updated" date.
